On July 30, 2016, I reached a writing milestone.
I finished writing my first manuscript, my memoir titled “Heart in a Drawer: My Story as a Child of Divorce.” This book took six years to write. I drew upon the past 27 years of journal writing to create a book of memories distilled into poetry moments. This book marks the end of a long journey and the beginning of another journey.
I’ve shared many of those poetry moments with you on my blog in the past six months. A small press publisher is reviewing my Heart in a Drawer manuscript, and you can read the rest of the story when a publisher decides to accept it. I hope that day arrives soon!
As of today, I’m making a shift in my posts.
I will post on the theme “Words of Encouragement” through September 20.
On September 20, I will reveal a very exciting Christmas-themed project coming to my blog in October. I am working hard to prepare it now, and if you’ve enjoyed my posts so far, I hope you will keep reading!
If you will take a few seconds to offer feedback on what you’ve enjoyed most about my writing, I will tailor future posts to your preferences. You can comment on my blog or on my Facebook author page, or send me an email at [email protected] . Here are some questions to get you started:
- Do you feel as if you know the real me through my writing?
- Has my writing helped you better understand yourself or someone you know?
- Which parts of my story resonated most with you:
child of divorce
fear of abandonment
faith
loneliness
depression
passivity
searching for love
problems with romantic relationships
family issues
eating for comfort
self-destruction
or any other themes? Which themes would you like to see developed in more posts?
Thank you in advance for your feedback! I appreciate each and every one of you.
Blessings to you, Sarah
