As a writer, do you have a consistent writing habit? Many writers struggle with consistency. But in the past year, I’ve reaped benefits from writing consistently, and you can do the same. Here are the four benefits I’ve experienced from consistent writing.

New Life from Old Stumps
Today’s post is based on chapter 16 of my book, Newness of Life.
How is new life rising from old stumps in your current season?
What I’ve learned about stumps in the past 12 years of living in the woods is this:
New life will always sprout up if roots are intact.
The roots of our trees run deep, fifty feet or more. Those roots enable the trees to leaf out season after season, bringing newness of life year after year. Unless the roots are permanently severed, the power of life will keep pushing forward.
A Writer’s Thankful Prayer
Today I thank God for all the blessings he gave me as a writer and blogger in 2016. May this prayer, based on Psalm 118, bless and inspire you!
Today I give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever.
Memory writing: A healing journey
This is my writing process for transforming painful memories into poems.
I go to my journals and immerse myself in those feelings. Then I pull out a photo from that time period.
