On the devotion, I wrote about a rare sighting of a bald eagle here in southeast Missouri. Guess what God showed me yesterday on my way home from a very tough morning?
If you read my devotion, you know that I’ve only seen bald eagles three times in 18 years of living on my property. So, yesterday made it time number four.
What did God tell me through the “hidden manna” of this bald eagle sighting? The same thing he told me earlier this year in the devotion story:
“I’VE GOT YOU, GIRL!”
That’s EXACTLY the message I needed to hear yesterday morning when I was dealing with overwhelming emotions and high anxiety.
The eagle was perched high up on the tree, sitting perfectly still while it scanned the surrounding fields. It reminded me that God is watching over me from up high too, perfectly calm because nothing surprises him or worries him.
The eagle sighting gave me great comfort. It not only reminded me of God’s presence in my life; it reminded me that he will provide protection and answers for me at the right time.
Just as the hidden manna in the Bible was a sign of God’s presence and provision for his people, God scatters hidden manna all around us in our daily lives, if we simply open our eyes to see it.
