Saturday Sips September 2022 is a short recollection of what I’ve learned this month. I’m following a format known as Share Four Somethings, and I hope it inspires your own reflections on what you’ve learned this September.
Something Loved
It’s officially pumpkin spice season, and I’m loving it! My daughter loves to bake, and we’ve been enjoying making all things fall spice together. (By the way, my oldest son loves woodworking, and made the wooden pumpkin pictured at the top of this post.)
I made my favorite pumpkin cranberry walnut bread recipe into muffins. Check out this pin for the recipe.
Lauren made me a delicious carrot cake a few weeks ago. She saved the extra icing and made another cake this week – applesauce spice cake with clementine-cranberry gelee, which she came up with herself. I adore having small slices as part of my breakfast!
We also enjoyed a trip to the 50th annual Great Balloon Race in St. Louis and a visit to the glorious St. Louis Art Museum. Watch this reel to see views of our lovely day.
Something Gleaned
One of the best posts I’ve read this month is by my friend Eugene Scott, who was kind enough to endorse my upcoming book too. It’s called The Strange Way I’ve Come to Trust in God and How You Can Too. Read it here.
The best quote I read this month is from Andrew Murray. Listen to it on my recent TikTok video. While you’re there, I’d appreciate a follow too!
Something Braved or Saved
I restarted making a video version of my podcast for adult children of divorce, in addition to the audio version. This past week, I didn’t edit out my tears from either version, though I could have done so. Instead, I decided to be brave and keep them in there due to my promise in the very first episode to be real with my listeners. You can listen to the episode HERE or watch the video HERE.
Something Achieved
Lots of achievements this month – God is so good!
My upcoming book is now fully available on Kindle due to a glitch. You can get the Kindle copy, preorder the paperback, and/or join the launch team through Sept. 30 HERE.
For the first time ever, I had a reel start to go viral on Facebook. You can see it and share it HERE.
I had another video go wild on Instagram. Watch it HERE.
Finally, I had ANOTHER video do very well on my new TikTok account! See it HERE.
OK, last achievement. I reached a milestone of 100 episodes on my podcast Finding Peace in God’s Word. So thankful for God’s goodness this month! Check it out HERE. Be sure to listen to this episode to find out how you can get a thank-you gift from me by Oct. 1!
