When you feel overwhelmed, you can use a hard restart to find peace in your day. I’ve discovered several ways to do this as a work-from-home mom, and I want to encourage you today!
A Hard Restart
Most of us use computers for our jobs. I heavily depend on my computer to write freelance articles, publish blog posts, create graphics, send email, manage social media…you get the idea. In the previous sentence, I purposely listed a long list because it shows just how much we have to juggle in our busy days.
I didn’t even include the ongoing tasks of laundry, dishes, taking care of my dog, watering plants, vacuuming…again, you get the idea! It seems like work never stops for us women, whether we work outside the home or inside it. Believe me, I juggled a huge amount of responsibility when I was nursing my baby who wore cloth diapers, taking care of two toddlers, cooking meals from scratch, gardening, AND working from home!
Are you stressed now, just reading this list and remembering your own? Let’s stop and take a deep breath.
Breathe, friend.
When we keep too many tabs open on our computers, the processor slows down. It simply can’t work fast enough to manage all the pages. Sometimes, if I really overload my computer, it locks up. The only thing that resets it is a hard restart.
Pushing that button on the top of the keyboard is the hard restart. After that, the computer can function again. But some work might be lost, which is an awful feeling to experience!
Why You Need a Hard Restart
Friend, if you’re pushing yourself too hard, you could crash just like your computer. You could lose precious parts of yourself as you crash.
This isn’t the way God wants you to live. He promises abundant life that gives you greater peace. It’s possible to find it when you take intentional breaks during your day.
On my post today for Woman 2 Woman Ministries, I’m sharing more than five practical ways you can create a restart in your busy day. I also share my favorite Christian meditation verse to help reset my thoughts for greater peace.
