You can find greater peace through Christian meditation. Here’s a guided meditation to help you find the lasting peace you seek.
How Christian Meditation Brings You Peace
Who isn’t feeling stressed out in our fast-paced culture? Who isn’t looking for a solution?
I’ve found a wonderful secret for handling stress in a God-pleasing way. It’s meditating on God’s Word.
Meditation is proven to lower your blood pressure, boost your immune system function, and help you relax. When we meditate on God’s Word, we enjoy those benefits plus the peace that passes all understanding, only available through the one true God.
When you practice Christian meditation, you use Bible verses for your focus. You simply choose a verse or passage and mull over it in your mind. As long as you have a verse ready, you can practice Christian meditation anytime and anywhere. You can write it out, speak it, sing it or memorize it for extra layers of learning.
Every time you meditate on your focus verse, you get in touch with God and his promises. Staying in touch with God through Christian meditation will bring you peace throughout your day. When you apply your meditation verse in stressful situations, God will replace your stress with his perfect peace.

Every year I choose a theme verse for focused meditation. The theme verse brings me greater peace the more I meditate upon them.
When I am feeling particularly stressed out, I redirect my mind on the verse rather than on my problems. God gives me perspective, comfort and strength in Christian meditation, right in my stressful moments.
Let’s practice Christian meditation with the verse listed above.
Think about God’s works and deeds in the Bible. Which ones come to mind for you? I think about the manna from heaven, the parting of the Red Sea, and Jesus’ healing miracles.
Ask yourself–what’s the common thread in the works and deeds you remember? For me, it’s that God has total control over nature. He can supersede any sort of problem, because he is transcendent above creation.
How does this truth apply to my stressful situation? Through Christian meditation, I can focus on the fact that God is transcendent over my problem. He can intervene at any moment, channel my situation in a different way, or give me his abundant strength to fight it or persevere through it. Remembering this truth about God gives me peace that he is in control.
I can also meditate on the mighty works and deeds he has done in my life. Since he has been faithful to me before, he won’t let me down now. No matter how stressed out I feel, God is still in control.

Dear Father in heaven,
Thank you for the gift of your Word. It holds so much power and ability to help me. I am so grateful that you make it readily available to me.
I confess that I often forget that your Word can help me fight back in stressful situations. This week, please direct me to a verse for meditation. Remind me to meditate upon it every time I feel stress. Bring me your perfect peace through your Word.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
