Elegance with Grace

Elegance with Grace is a prayer of inspiration for women. I hope this prayer-poem inspires you today.

Today’s post is the ninth one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2022. Today’s prompt is “Elegance,” and here is my prayer/poem.

Elegance with Grace

O Lord

may I be a woman

with elegance and grace

for your glory.

May I meditate

on the lessons

of women in the Bible

who did not depend

on outer adornments

to make themselves

beautiful.

They may have delighted

in curling their hair

applying makeup

choosing jewelry

and trying on clothing.

But they knew

these things

were only temporary.

Instead

they cultivated

the lasting inner beauty

of a gentle

and quiet spirit

which is so precious

in your sight.

Without words

they purified their behavior

and showed reverence

and respect

for you and others.

As they placed their hope

in you

they willingly bowed

to the authorities

you placed over them

while choosing what is right

and not giving way to fear.

You call this elegance with grace

unfading in its beauty.

May I strive

to put on the same attitude

so that your grace

and elegance

may be magnified

O Holy Lord.
