Today I am celebrating 100 blog posts since August 2015, a big accomplishment in my writing career.
Celebrating 1000 Blog Posts
I started blogging in 2010, yet I got serious about blogging regularly in August 2015.
I got up at 4:30 a.m. and blogged for a couple of hours before getting ready for work. This practice helped me write and publish my first three books, which I did from scratch on KDP.
Because I wanted to build an email list, I wrote weekly blog posts for my readers. The Tea on Tuesdays newsletter deadline helped me produce many blog posts.
I also guest blogged on many sites. For one site, I wrote every Friday. I compiled my guest posts into monthly roundups, which provided more blog posts and eventually turned into my latest book.
Over the years I’ve learned about the power of SEO for online writing. That’s helped market my books and services.
Now I blog less often, yet I receive traffic on my older posts primarily through SEO and Pinterest searches.
I still enjoy blogging, because writers must write. It’s a fulfilling place to share my thoughts and ideas in my writing ministry.
Why Blogging Isn’t Dead
Blogging isn’t dead. It’s still an excellent way to get people to find out about you for the first time.
I’ve worked as a freelance writer for many businesses such as attorneys, dentists, and contractors, who all needed active blogs to continue driving traffic to their sites.
I still apply this strategy for my books and services for authors, and I have coached over 100 clients since 2020 on blogging strategies.
