Patience, you slay me
with your silence.
No answers, no exit, no relief
for months.
Yet every day you sit beside me
as we watch the sun rise again.
Patience, you slay me
with your silence.
No answers, no exit, no relief
for months.
Yet every day you sit beside me
as we watch the sun rise again.

Far too long
I’ve sat on this branch
waiting for the perfect time to jump.
This is a poem written in five minutes flat, on the prompt “Slow” for the Five-Minute Friday linkup.
Slow is a breath of fresh air
after writing for days and days,
copying, pasting, editing, sending.
I open the front door
and step out into February sunshine
seventy degrees and breezy.
Writing for five unedited minutes on the prompt, Weak. Thoughts about my new book on the fruits of the spirit.
When my love is weak, apathy spreads.
When my joy is weak, irritation climbs.
Festive Fridays are for counting blessings, recapping posts, announcing giveaways, and sharing special treats with you.
This week I’m linking up on Five Minute Friday. I set a timer for five minutes, and here’s what I’ve written on the prompt “Breathe.”
Breath of Life
This wait is crushing
