Amazon Prime Day is coming on July 16! I’m proud to be an Amazon affiliate, and if you’re shopping on this bargain day in July, here are my top 10 picks if you’re looking for a GREAT read.
I read over 100 books every year, and I’m happy to share my very best picks from 2017 and 2018 with you. Click on the book photos, and you’ll be taken to my original blog post with the Amazon link to purchase the book. I’ll get a little bonus at no extra cost to you!
1. Best Christian Fiction Read
The Masterpiece is my favorite book so far in 2018, and I’ve read 52 books so far! Such a compelling novel from Francine Rivers. I still have the images in my mind, months later. Scroll down to the bottom of the post link for my review.
2. Most Entertaining and Inspiring Book
Prepare to have your mind blown and your faith stretched with the amazing, true stories from Bob Goff in Everybody, Always.
3. Best Book for Learning About God
The Holy Spirit may be the least-covered member of the Trinity in Christian literature. My friend Suzanne Eller writes a sensitive, thoughtful book on the Holy Spirit in The Spirit-Led Heart.
4. Best Book for Moms
Jamie Sumner’s writing voice is super smart, witty and candid. Her story is both heartbreaking and uplifting. I can’t recommend her book Unbound highly enough.
5. Best Book about Hope
All Things New was my #1 pick in 2017. Such a hope-filled book about the future for all believers–it will revolutionize your thinking.
6. Best Book for Christian Meditation
I use this beautiful, simple book every day before I go to sleep. It centers my mind on God’s Word. Ruth Chou Simons always offers top-quality art and books, and Garden of Truth is no exception.
7. Best Book for Battling Fear
Maria Furlough shares her own painful story as inspiration for Breaking the Fear Cycle. As someone who has struggled with fear all my life, I was able to transform my anxious thoughts with this poignant book.
8. Funniest Book
In Bloom had me snorting with laughter. I loved Kayla Aimee’s funny stories and tender observations. A lighter read still full of spiritual truth.
9. Book With the Loveliest Word Pictures
I have a collection of Holley Gerth’s inspirational and honest reads, and in my opinion, Fiercehearted is her best one yet. So many beautiful stories and metaphors. I treasured this read and I keep coming back to it.
10. Most Influential Book
I don’t have a stand-alone book review for Boundaries. But I have recommended it time and time again for good reason. No other book besides the Bible has had such transformative power in my life. I read it for the first time in 2007 and drank it in like water. It helped me understand how God sets boundaries, which means He wants me to set them too. So much practical help packed into this contemporary Christian classic. Now I have an entire collection of Cloud & Townsend books, and this one started my healing process. If you haven’t read this book yet, you simply MUST check it out!
There you have it. I hope you enjoy my recommendations.
