Do you feel overwhelmed, confused, and perhaps frightened by our rapidly changing, ever-darkening culture? Jesus calls us to be salt and light in a dark culture. These two books are like road-maps for a challenging journey.

Last week, we began The Abundant Life series, about overcoming a scarcity mindset. Today, we will discuss how gratitude is a powerful weapon in this battle against the “not enough” thinking patterns.
How often have you felt the cloud of “not enough” hanging over your life?
Today is a milestone. I’m starting my fourth decade today in October 2017. As I begin this new blog series about The Abundant Life, I’m reflecting on both my scarcity mindset in the past four decades, and the way God has abundantly blessed me despite my fears. Welcome to this new series, and I hope you’ll journey along with me in October so your fears can be allayed and your faith can be strengthened.
I love the writing life, but it can get lonely. Time with my friends must be scheduled or it doesn’t happen. This weekend, I was happy to spend time with new friends at the Come With Me retreat, hosted by my friend Suzie Eller. The retreat taught me many valuable lessons, especially the value of Christian friends.
I am absolutely thrilled to have my friend Julie Holmquist from Stuff of Heaven to speak about special needs parenting for the final installment of this blog series on your life’s path. We have discussed knowing when a storm is coming and how to seek God’s guidance. Today, Julie has written a lovely guest post on unexpected turns in her life path, and how she clung to her faith in those unexpected turns. Welcome, dear Julie!
